New features
General
- From now on, most updates will be optional and the user will be able to chose when to update Studio. There will be some cases where an update will be mandatory for compatibility reasons but in most cases it will not. Please note that this update is mandatory as it contains the groundwork for this feature.
Coil Pro
- Coil Pro 3D error visualization. You can now enable the 3D visualization to map the coil signal around your environment by just moving around.
Face Capture
- Paid Plan Feature: You can now save, apply and manage custom face capture filter presets.
Exports
- New UE5 export preset using the Newton skeleton for better compatibility with UE's retargeting feature.
- Paid Plan Feature: You can now save, apply and manage custom export settings presets.
Improvements
Dashboard
- List view can be selected instead of grid view in the Projects and in-Project views.
Device Manager
- WiFi setup can be accessed even when there is a device error for most device errors.
- Updated some of the device error texts to be more accurate.
- Re-introduced the firmware reinstallation flow for some of the error states.
- Improved visualization of the WiFi connection state.
- Auto-scan WiFi networks when a USB device is initialized.
- One unified entry in the device manager per device containing both the USB and WiFi connection.
Exports
- The previously named UE5 export preset has been renamed to "UE5 Manny" and a new preset for UE5 has been added that uses the default Rokoko skeleton for better use with the UE retargeting feature.
- Re-introduced the iClone skeleton preset using the fixed iClone T-Pose.
- Relaxed the export process to not block exports with errors but instead produce a file and generate a .txt with the errors messages.
- Added an error message when trying to export clips that don't contain any visible objects.
- The framerate setting is now available for .bvh exports.
Editing
- There is now a "Finalize post process" button that gets enabled when an edit/change has been detected in the timeline. This will run a full post process to make sure the playback shows the exact same result as the export.
Teams
- Plan expiration date has been added to the team panel and a notification will show up when the plan is about to expire.
Smartgloves
- Updated the algorithm that controls finger rotations, reducing cases of "crooked" fingers.
Scene
- When selecting a scene asset, there is information in the details panel on who and when it was created and when was the last modification.
- Improved the camera follow when juggling between actors and attached characters.
Fixed issues
- Calibrations with coil will not get immediately aborted when a requirement is not met but will reset and prompt to resolve the requirement.
- Fixed an issue where old character imports didn't export their textures properly.
- Fixed the root orientation on UE exports.
- Fixed an issue where the copy scene feature wouldn't work properly when copying a scene created by a user that is not part of the team anymore.
- Fixed the rotated ankles in the iClone T-Pose.
- Fixed the Toe Bend filter when the foot is on the side.
- Fixed the trigger messages for compatibility with Peel Capture.
- Fixed the custom character streaming in VRChat and VMC.
- Fixed the export option for the root node naming doesn't work when "Single null root bone" is disabled.
- Fixed the zoom handles in the Timeline scrollbar to follow the scrollbar's movement. There is still some performance optimization to be made that especially affects the navigation in longer clips.
Hotfix #1
Build version 2.4.6.3 (Windows) / 2.4.6.3 (Mac)
- Fixed a "rare" issue where the active clip was not unloaded properly and caused subsequent recordings to fail.
- Fixed the default export configuration, only affected new installations on Starter plan.
