Setting up Face Capture in Rokoko Studio

Requirements

  • Rokoko Studio
  • iPhone X and later or 11-series with TrueDepth Camera
  • iPhone iOS 13.0 or later
  • An active Rokoko Studio Subscription (Plus, Pro, Enterprise) | Add-on plan: Face Capture
  • Rokoko Face Capture app
  • Make sure that your iPhone is connected to the same network as the computer running Rokoko Studio.
  1. Open Rokoko Studio and enter a project/scene.
  2. Launch the Rokoko Face Capture app on your iPhone X (or newer). If you haven't downloaded it, you can do so here.

  3. Right click on your Phone's name in Studio and select "Connect".mceclip1.png

  4. Tap the ‘Accept‘ button to connect your phone to Studio.mceclip2.png

  5. Tap the slider button to enable ‘Facial capture‘ on your phone.mceclip3.png

  6. Finally, pair the Face Capture to your Actor, by dragging the Face capture to your actor or by selecting Input pairing on top-middle (right-icon)

✅Face Capture is now ready to be used!

Rokoko Face Capture UI

The Red circular button is the record button. It allows you to start and stop recordings within Rokoko Studio.

With this button, you can disconnect your iPhone from the Studio.

With the "camera" button, you can get rid of the black screen and see yourself.

This is the ‘Straight Pose‘ button. When you have a Smartsuit Pro live in Studio, this button enables the straight pose countdown.
