What's the Public Test Environment?

The Public Test Environment (PTE) is where we share early, pre-release versions of Rokoko Studio for our users to help us test and stabilize new releases with invaluable feedback. It is also known as Rokoko Studio Staging.

The PTE is only available at a given timeframe in advance of an upcoming release of Rokoko Studio and cannot be used outside of this period.

The PTE exists on a completely separate environment, so that it doesn't potentially interfere with production data, which means you need to create and use a new Rokoko ID account, and use separate scenes, clips, etc.

All paid features are freely available on the Public Test Environment - Motion Library, however, cannot be accessed.

As this is a pre-release version of Studio, you should not use it for any production-related purposes, or at least do so at your own risk. There may be critical bugs, your data may become corrupt, and we may wipe the databases from time to time.

Having more people use and stress-test upcoming releases of Studio is, however, a very important step in ensuring that we release reliable and dependable software. Thanks for helping us out!

How to get started

First you need to download and install Rokoko Studio Staging. You can keep it installed outside of the test periods, as it will automatically update itself for future releases.

Once you have installed and launch Rokoko Studio Staging, you will need to create a new account if you haven't done so prior. Follow the steps in Studio or go to Rokoko ID Staging to sign-up, and then login with this account.

You are now ready to use the current pre-release version of Rokoko Studio on the Public Test Environment. You will automatically be prompted to install new versions as we push out updates for this pre-release version during the test period.

How to provide feedback

We are interested in all and any kinds of feedback during the test period, but we're mainly focused on two areas:

  1. Tests and validation of all new features, improvements and bugfixes in the version being tested. You can get an overview of all the changes from the published pre-release notes.
  2. Tests of all your current Rokoko Studio workflows to ensure that nothing has broken or been made worse since the previous version. This also includes e.g. export/import or livestreaming to your target applications.

Please share your feedback and issues in our Discord server in the current dedicated channel for this pre-release test, found in the Public Tests category.

Remember that it's always help with clear descriptions and ideally also images and/or videos showcasing your issue or point.

For general feedback that is somewhat subjective, please remember to state why you think your feedback is correct.

For bugs, please also post log files - Studio log files, device log files and/or driver recordings, depending on the type of issue. You can find guides on how to generate these files in our Troubleshooting section.
