Which products is this article relevant for?
Smartsuit Pro II
Most standard WiFi routers that are compatible with either 2.4GHz or 5GHz should work with the Smartsuit Pro (I and II). However, note that the Smartsuit can only be assigned an IPv4 IP address (e.g. 172.168.1.245) and does not currently support IPv6 IP addresses (e.g.2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334).
When setting up your Rokoko motion capture products for the first time, try using your existing router first to see if it meets your needs. If not, consider the following options (or similarly specced options you may find on your own):
- If you are also using the Virtual Production Add-on (HTC tracker / Lighthouse Base Station integration) and forwarding the data to a plugin (Unity or Unreal), consider routers suggested in points 2 and above, depending on how many Smartsuit Pros you will connect.
- If setting up at a conference, university, or business hub/large office center with a lot of WiFi traffic, consider a router from points 2 or 3.
- If you need a big range (25m or more) or are using the Smartsuit Pro II in an environment with many walls and large objects potentially weakening the signal, consider routers from points 2 and above, depending on how many Smartsuit Pros you will connect.
