Introduction
In order to get the best results out of your Smartsuit Pro and Smartgloves, you will need to create an Actor Profile as close to your real body measurements as possible. In this article, we will see how we can create it.
Creating your Actor Profile
The actor profile needs to be named, this is up to the user if they how they want their naming convention to be. We usually recommend the name of the actor, as even if the actors have the same height their body measures might not be the same.
You have the possibility of color-coding the actor profile so you're sure who is who if working with multiple smart suits in a recording session.
The actor profile can work by only plotting the height and the body type of the actor.
It will fill out a guess on the measurements of the actor. But for the most precise data, it is recommended to fill out all the measurements manually to fit the actor perfectly.
Hand Length
The distance between the base of your wrist to the tip of your middle finger.
Arm span
The distance between the tip of the middle finger on the left and right hand, with arms spread out on 90 degrees from the body in a t-position.
Shoulder Height
Measured from the floor to the notch between your collarbone, in the pit of you throat (Suprasternal landmark).
Shoulder width
The distance between the left and right body edge on the backside of the shoulder (Acromion landmark).
Pelvis Height
Measured from the floor to the boney tip on the front side of the Pelvis, above the center of your thigh ( Anterior Superior Iliac Spine landmark).
Pelvis Width
The distance between the left and right bony tip on the front side of the Pelvis, located above the center of your thigh (Anterior SuperiorIliac Spine landmark).
Knee Height
Measured from the floor to the bony point on the outside of the knee, located above the space between the shin and thigh (Lateral Condyle landmark).
Manus Length
The length from the tip of the middle finger on your left or right hand, to the tip of the backside of the elbow (Olecranon landmark).
Foot Length
Measured from the back of the heel (Calnaeus) to the tip of the 2nd toe.
Pairing your Live input device to your Actor Profile
After creating your Actor Profile, you will need to "wear" your Smartsuit Pro or Smartgloves to that Actor Profile in order to use it.
To do this, there are two ways:
- Drag and Drop: Simply Left-click your Live input device, keep it pressed, and drag and drop the live input device to your Actor Profile to "wear" it to it.
- Right-click and pair: Right-click on your Actor Profile, select "Pair with live input", and select your live input device.
