Calibrating With The Coil Pro

In this article:

Below you will find information and guidance on how to calibrate your actor while using the Coil Pro.

After setting up your Coil Pro you will need to have created an Actor profile, and paired your Rokoko Smartgloves to that Actor (as below).

In order for the Coil Pro to establish your world position, you will need to calibrate. This is done by clicking on the Calibrate button.

You will be prompted to stand still with your arms by your side. You can face in any direction while calibrating, but do keep in mind that if you are two or more actors in a scene you will all need to face the same direction.

When using Smartgloves without a Smartsuit Pro, the pose for calibrating is to stand upright, with your arms bent at the elbow and kept at a 90 degree angle to your body (as below).

While calibrating, the Coil Pro will also establish the distance between itself and the floor. However, if you are more than one actor in a scene, we recommend manually setting this distance by selecting the Coil Pro drop down and clicking the Set Distance to Floor checkbox. You may need to tweak this value slightly until the shoulders of each actor are looking correctly level.
